Dong Shouping is a famous contemporary freehand painter and calligrapher. He is famous for painting pines, bamboos, plums and orchids. In his later years, he was known as a giant of Mount Huangshan Mountain. He painted landscapes on Mount Huangshan Mountain and was also good at calligraphy. Formerly served as a consultant for the Chinese Calligraphers Association, a member of the Chinese Artists Association, a consultant for Beijing Rongbaozhai, director of the Calligraphy and Painting Room of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, honorary president of the Beijing Chinese Painting Research Association, honorary president of the Shanxi Provincial Cultural Relics Research Association, director of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, assistant director of the China Japan Friendship Association, vice president of the Beijing Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and member of the 5th and 6th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. In 1992, Mr. Dong Shouping inscribed a vertical scroll with the words "Grape Wine, Fragrant from Thousands of Miles" for Zhang Yu Company as a sign of encouragement.
