A snowstorm that arrived earlier than usual suddenly struck, and the extremely cold temperatures froze the grapes into ice. The winery owner was unwilling to give up on this and picked and pressed "ice grapes" to obtain a very small amount of juice. The wine made from it surprisingly has a unique flavor that is different from other wines, hence the name ice wine.

Ice wine is a high-end wine made from grapes that have been frozen and frozen in the extreme cold of minus 8 ℃. Due to the highly concentrated nature of frozen grapes, producing a bottle of ice wine requires four times more grapes than other wines, resulting in a more concentrated nutritional content.

China Golden Ice Valley
The "Golden Ice Valley" in Liaoning, China, along with Ontario, Canada and Rheinland Hessen, Germany, are among the world's three major ice wine producing regions.
The growth of ice grapes has almost strict requirements for the natural environment. Only when conditions such as temperature, climate, and soil are suitable can high-quality ice wine be brewed.
The Golden Ice Valley has various ideal environmental factors required for the growth of rare ice grapes worldwide: 41 degrees north latitude, an average altitude of 380 meters, surrounded by water in Wunv Mountain and Huanlong Lake Mountain, forming a unique microclimate. In winter, it is cold and not dry, causing the production of precious rot fungi on the surface of grape fruits.
Here, it can reach minus 8 degrees Celsius every winter and maintain a natural low temperature for more than 12 hours, ensuring the production of high-quality ice wine every year.
Located on the banks of Huanlong Lake in Liaoning Province, the Golden Ice Valley Ice Wine Winery is jointly built by Changyu Company, which has a hundred years of history, and Oros Company, which has the largest export volume of ice wine in Canada.
At present, Liaoning Golden Ice Valley Ice Wine Winery can produce 1000 tons of ice wine annually, accounting for half of the global ice wine production.
Picking and Brewing
A competition against sunrise
Miracle of minus 8 ℃ - Ice grapes must start picking in the early morning of the extremely cold minus 8 ℃ and be completed before sunrise.
This is because ice grapes must wait for the temperature to reach minus 8 ℃ and continue for more than 12 hours before picking, at which point all the water in the ice grapes can condense into ice to meet the pressing needs.
The fully ripe and late harvested ice grapes that have undergone wind and frost are significantly dehydrated, and their sugar and nutrients are concentrated. At this time, the sugar content and flavor are optimal.
Extract the essence of ice grape - pour the ice grape into the special ice wine press. After a long time, a small amount of golden yellow thick liquid slowly flows out, and you can smell the sweet fruit fragrance when you are close to it.
The water in the frozen state of ice grapes is separated from the pressed juice, allowing the juice to be further concentrated, while ice grapes used for making ice wine only have a juice yield of about 20%. (The normal juice yield of wine grapes is over 75%)

Golden Ice Valley Ice Wine
There are three types of Golden Ice Valley Ice Wine, namely Golden Diamond Grade Golden Ice Valley Ice Wine, Black Diamond Grade Golden Ice Valley Ice Wine, and Blue Diamond Grade Golden Ice Valley Ice Wine. Ice wine has a golden color, with aromas of flowers, fruits, honey, and tropical fruits. It is sweet, balanced in acidity, refreshing, and has a long-lasting aftertaste.
Agate in the Severe Cold - Weddell
The Golden Ice Valley Ice Wine series products are brewed by Vettel. Weddell belongs to the white grape variety, which is a hybrid offspring of Baiyu Ni and Sai Bi Er. It is one of the best varieties for making ice wine internationally.
Weddell fruit ripens slowly but steadily, with a thick skin that is easy to reproduce and rich in juice. It has a sweet and ripe rich aroma of pineapple, mango, apricot, and honey.
The only geographical indication protection product for ice wine in China
In 2006, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China issued a notice approving the implementation of geographical indication product protection for Huanren Ice Wine. In December 2009, Liaoning Ice Wine Winery Co., Ltd. became the only enterprise with the right to use the geographical indication.
Golden Ice Valley Ice Wine is currently the only ice wine brand protected product in China.

In 2013, Dubai Seven Star Sailing Hotel officially launched the sale of Golden Ice Valley ice wine, marking the first time the hotel made an exception by introducing wine from Asia.
British Royal Wine Merchant BBR
In 2013, British wine company BBR (full name Berry Bros&Rudd) announced that it would establish permanent storage locations for the 2009 Golden Diamond, 2009 Blue Diamond, and 2010 Black Diamond ice wines from Liaoning Golden Ice Valley Winery.

At the 2018 MUNDUS VINI Spring Wine Tasting Festival in Germany, Liaoning Golden Ice Valley Ice Wine Winery won the gold medal for its 2015 Golden Diamond and Blue Diamond ice wines.
In the 2019 MUNDUS VINI Spring Wine Tasting Festival, Liaoning Golden Ice Valley Ice Wine once again won the gold medal.

DWWA
In May 2011, Golden Twine Valley won the DWWA World Wine Award for sweet white grape wine, presented by the world's most authoritative wine magazine Decanter. This was the first time Asian ice wine had won the award.

Berlin Wine Competition
In 2018, at the 22nd Berlin Wine Competition, Liaoning Golden Twine Valley Chateau's 2015 Golden Diamond and Blue Diamond ice wines both won the gold medal.
In the 2020 Berlin Wine Trophy, Liaoning Golden Twine Valley Chateau once again won the gold medal for its 2017 Golden Diamond ice wine and 2016 Black Diamond ice wine.

In 2010, Liaoning Golden Twine Valley Chateau won the Sweet Wine Award at the SIAL China International Wine and Spirits Competition.

Golden Twine Valley won a silver medal at the 2016 International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC), becoming the only Chinese ice wine to win a silver medal at this year's IWSC.
In 2017, Golden Wine Valley won two IWSC awards, namely the 2017 IWSC Gold Outstanding and the 2017 IWSC Chinese Wine Trophy.
International Leader Wine Quality Competition
In the 2018 International Leader Wine Quality Competition, Liaoning Golden Twine Valley Chateau's 2016 Golden Diamond Ice Wine and 2015 Blue Diamond Ice Wine won the highest level gold award in the competition.
In the 10th Asian Wine Quality Competition in 2019, Liaoning Golden Twine Valley Chateau's Golden Diamond Ice Wine 2016 won the gold medal in the competition.
First International Wine (China) Competition Award
In 2019, the golden diamond ice wine produced by Liaoning Golden Twine Valley Chateau won the gold medal at the first International Wine Competition.
